What is a funeral order of service?
An order of service is a small printed booklet handed out at a funeral or memorial service. It lists the ceremony programme (readings, hymns, tributes, blessings, etc.) and includes a photo and biographical details of the person being remembered.
Think of it as the "programme" for the service — guests follow along and take it home as a keepsake.
Do I need a photo?
No, photos are optional. If you don't have one or prefer not to use one, that's completely fine. You can create a beautiful order of service without a portrait.
However, a portrait photo makes the tribute much more personal and dignified, so we recommend including one if you have it.
Can I use the designer for multiple copies of different services?
Yes, absolutely. You can create as many order of services as you need. Each download is independent, so you can personalise different designs for different services.
How long does it take to create one?
Typically 15–30 minutes. The process is:
- Upload photo (optional): 1 min
- Fill in basic details (name, dates, venue): 2 mins
- Generate tribute with Grace: 5 secs
- Choose template & design: 2 mins
- Edit text to personalise: 10–20 mins
- Download PDF: 1 min
Grace & Creative Writing
What is Grace?
Grace is your personal creative writing assistant. She helps you find the perfect words — suggesting hymns, poems, readings, and helping you write the tribute, welcome, and closing sections.
You always edit every word, so it's 100% your voice and story. Grace is there to help when you're struggling with wording.
Can I write my own tribute without Grace?
Yes, completely. Grace is optional. If you prefer to write the entire tribute yourself, you can skip the "Generate with Grace" button and type everything directly into the text fields.
Can I edit Grace's suggestions?
Yes, you can edit everything. Grace's suggestions are starting points. You can change words, rewrite sections, add personal details, or delete anything you don't want. No part is locked.
Where do the hymn and reading suggestions come from?
Grace suggests from a curated library of 200+ traditional hymns, poems, and readings suited to each faith tradition. All are widely used in real funeral services.
You're not limited to these suggestions — you can type in any hymn or reading you prefer.
Templates & Design
How many templates are there?
13 templates in total:
- 10 faith traditions (Church of England, Catholic, Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Methodist, Baptist, and others)
- Celebration of Life (for secular services)
- Infant & Child Memorial (for the loss of a baby or young child)
- Memorial Bookmark (wallet-sized keepsakes)
Can I see the templates before I buy?
Yes! You can view template previews and customize designs with watermarks before paying. This way you see exactly what you're getting.
Once you purchase, the watermark is removed and you get the full, clean PDF ready to print.
Can I change the template after I start?
Yes, easily. As you type, you can switch between templates at any time and see the preview update instantly. The text you've entered stays the same across all templates.
What if my faith tradition isn't listed?
Choose the closest match or use "Non-Religious / Humanist" and then customise the sections as needed. You can edit every part of the order of service, so you can adapt it to your specific tradition.

Can I add a decorative symbol (cross, dove, etc.)?
Yes! The designer includes optional decorative symbols: cross, lily, dove, and floral corners. You can add one to the cover or skip it entirely. It's your choice.

What's included in the price?
One-time payment includes:
- All design personalisation tools
- Grace creative writing assistant (suggestions for hymns, readings, tributes)

- Lifetime access to re-download your design
NOT included: Printing or delivery. You print it yourself at home, a copy shop, or a professional printer.
Is there a subscription or ongoing fee?
No, absolutely not. You pay once, download the PDF, and keep it forever. No recurring fees, no subscriptions, no surprise charges.
What's the difference between the template options and the bundle?
Individual templates: £9.99 each. Buy only what you need.
Complete Bundle (£19.99): Includes all 13 templates + prayer cards + thank you cards. Better value if you need multiple options.
Both include Grace and all personalisation tools.
How do I pay?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and Apple Pay via Stripe, our secure payment partner. Your payment is encrypted and secure.
Can I get a refund?
Since our product is digital (immediately downloadable), we don't offer refunds after purchase. However, if you have issues accessing your download or encounter technical problems, please contact us and we'll help.
Printing & Delivery
How do I print my order of service?
The PDF is formatted for A5 (half an A4 sheet folded). You have three options:
- Print at home: Use your home printer on standard paper. Takes 10 mins, costs £0.02–0.15 per copy.
- Copy shop (Staples, local print shop): Same day, 1–2 hours turnaround. Better paper quality. £0.10–0.40 per copy.
- Professional printer (Vistaprint, etc.): 3–7 days, premium finishes, bulk quantities. £0.30+ per copy.

What paper should I use?
We recommend: Premium uncoated paper, 120–160gsm, cream or white colour. This gives a professional, dignified feel without being expensive.
Budget option: Standard office paper (80–100gsm) works fine.
Premium option: Matte art paper (200–250gsm) for a premium feel, especially if including a portrait photo.

Do you offer printing or mailing services?
Not currently. We provide the design and PDF — you handle printing and distribution. This keeps costs low and gives you control over timing and quality.
Can I print multiple copies of the same design?
Yes, unlimited copies. Your one-time payment gives you the PDF permanently. You can print 1 copy or 1,000 copies at home, a copy shop, or a professional printer.
What is the resolution/DPI of the PDF?
300 DPI (dots per inch) — professional printing quality. This means sharp text and photos at any size, suitable for professional printing or home printing.
Technical & Account
What file format do I receive?
A PDF file (portable document format). PDFs open on any device (computer, phone, tablet) and print exactly as designed. No special software needed.
Can I edit the PDF after I download it?
The PDF is locked for editing (to protect the design), but you can reprint it as many times as you like with no changes.
If you need to make changes after purchase, download the PDF again from your dashboard and re-open the designer to edit the live version before re-downloading.
Do I need an account?
No account needed. Just enter your email at checkout and you'll receive a dashboard link where you can download your PDF anytime. No password, no login required.
Will my design be saved?
Your order of service PDF is yours forever. You'll receive a private download link that stays valid indefinitely, so you can reprint anytime.
The design itself (text, template choice, etc.) is not stored once you download — only the final PDF.
